Lake Tyers has many places to launch canoes and explore.

The launch site is leaving from the picnic area just before the boat parking at Number 2 Boat Ramp. It is a sheltered and a gradual slope and would good for beginners to get their balance before heading off.

The open waters of the Lake are to the north of this point so take care if an onshore (southerly) breeze is strong.

Just keep in mind that Lake Tyers opens to the sea from time to time and the huge, but shortlived currents cut quite deep channels, and the water depth can change from shallow to several metres very quickly.

Boat Ramp Number 2 to Fishermans Landing

This is a versatile little course as it is between two Boat Launching Ramps. Boat Ramp Number 2 at Lake Tyers Beach is to the north of the township, and Fishermans Landing is to the east on the Toorloo Arm.

The trip can be done as a round trip, leave from one boatramp, paddle to the other and return. If you have a support team who would like ot help and participate, they can drive around to meet the paddlers and then swap driving and paddling and all meet back at the original boat ramp.
